HOW IT ALL STARTED

Magnum Opus Consulting is a firm established by Khaled Gaafar in 2018 in the Netherlands while studying at Radboud University – Nijmegen.

When asked about Magnum Opus, Khaled usually says, “I couldn’t find a job that enabled me to use my skillset to solve problems I cared deeply about, so I started Magnum Opus Consulting.”

He believes that, “there are far too many messy problems in this world for us to stand aside and let them unravel. We have the tools to address them, so let’s put these tools to good use!”

RIGOROUS MODELING FOR RELEVANT PROBLEMS

For the past 6 years, Magnum Opus Consulting has been engaging International non-profits, in the humanitarian and development sectors, with complex systems modeling tools and methodologies.

The purpose of Magnum Opus Consulting is to provide high quality decision support to help clients tackle systemic problems, improving lives and livelihoods of people around the world.

In 2021, Khaled moved Magnum Opus Consulting to Rotterdam, and since then has been working on expanding the enterprise and growing the team.

Rotterdam provided new horizons for Magnum Opus where Khaled met other serious modelers, harnessed fresh partnerships, and gained experience in a myriad of System Dynamics, and other, applications including disaster risk management, food security analysis, solid waste management, and national planning for sustainability under high uncertainty.
